History of Mi Ranchito Restaurants

Antonio and Sara Macias entertain friends and family with their authentic and delicious Mexican food recipes; their friends exclaim how great everything tastes. Antonio and Sara begin to dream of opening their own restaurant.

As a way to satisfy the requests and desire for their food, a dream becomes a reality and the first Mi Ranchito Restaurant is opened in Ontario, California. By using the freshest ingredients and family recipes, our Steak Picado, and Chile Verde become customer favorites.

As the first restaurant only had 6 tables and a very long waiting list of customers wanting to eat; the time came to expand the existing location adding another dining room. Customers proclaim Mi Ranchito Restaurant as being Famous for the traditional Chile Rellenos and Carnitas!

As the number of diners increased, so did the need for more tables and a second Mi Ranchito Restaurant was opened in Chino, California.

The Chino location was overflowing with customers so the location expanded. History was made as Mi Ranchito Restaurant began to serve up the best-tasting margaritas in Southern California.

Mi Ranchito Restaurant creates the world's longest burrito measuring in at a very delicious and mouth-watering 115 ft. as a fundraiser at California State Polytechnic University Pomona. Through popular demand, a second fundraiser was done the following year, with the burrito measuring 120 feet.

As the demand for our delicious Mexican food grows, the family expands the business and opens another location in Upland, CA - the margaritas continue to pour.

Another Mi Ranchito Restaurant - this time in La Verne, CA – opens.

Our Famous Three Day Cruise was created - a tropical blend of rum and fruit juices- Sending spirited customers to the Mexican Riviera, without leaving town.

Celebrating our 30th Anniversary! As a way to thank loyal customers, Mi Ranchito Restaurants roll back the prices of their original combination plates to the 1974 price of $2.95.

Mi Ranchito Restaurant begins selling traditional Holiday Tamales by the dozen, November to January every year. Pre-orders become a necessity because of the high demand for this delicious treat.

Mi Ranchito Restaurant continues to support the schools and the local community. Another burrito measuring in at a very delicious and mouth-watering 120 ft. was created as a fundraiser for the Upland High School Regiment Band.

Celebrating our 35th Anniversary of serving Great Mexican Food and Margaritas!

Mi Ranchito Restaurant & Cantina embarks upon expansion to a new Upland location. After providing authentic Mexican cuisine at the original (Euclid Ave.) Upland venue for 30 years, the family-run restaurant opened at 1964 W Foothill Blvd., Upland, 91786 in February 2016. The Free-standing building is beautifully decorated inside and out. It offers customers a larger parking lot, expanded separate bar and beautiful outside patio. And of course, more televisions to watch favorite sporting events.

From the beginning and continuing through today the Original Mi Ranchito Restaurant has been a major part of your family as you have been a big part of ours. We have seen our customers grow up, marry, and bring their own children back to our place so that their children can enjoy the fine flavors from the Macias Family kitchens.
